I still have to buy his book but if he left this story out. ..shame on him. . . We're playing down at South San, 4th quarter and on a sweep I get my leg cut and have to come off the field with a really sharp pain. . . Coach Scott's instant analysis: "Cramp .. ..walk it off". . . . .to add to the humiliation. . my mom's yelling at me "are you OK????" from the stands. . . . ."cramp" doesn't want to go away. . . .I walk to the showers. . .change. ..ride the bus back to Randolph. . .in agony by now. . . .call my parents to meet me at the base hospital. . .ride my motorcycle to the hospital. .where they tell me to WALK downstairs to x-ray. . . Of course I don't notice the elevator is right there. . . .they come out with the X-Ray's and I try to stand to walk over and see them and all 3 workers scream SIT DOWN. . . . .seems the small bone in the back of my leg was completely broken and split apart. . . Have to drive to Ft Sam since they don't have anyone who can put a cast on me. . . . Monday on crutches I show up at Coach Scott's biology class and said "Cramp huh coach?". . . .he just looked at me and laughed. . . . Had to take my driving test with a cast on. . . .
